The United Nations Celebration of Pail and Shovel Integrated School was, in one word, Exhilarating! This year's theme was Exploring Cultural Differences and Appreciating Cultures. It aimed to Introduced thr PSIS community to the many wonderful cultures around the world. In this month-long, Newly introduced events, students were asked to do activities integrated in different subjects. for example they played games for other countries in thier PE classes,
Meanwhile, the students were prepared food such as kimbap from Korea, churros from Spain, and nachos from Mexico for thier TLE class. For arts education, they learned new traditions from Japan.They made over 100 origami peices and posted them in the school's playground as part of the quarterly project.
Aside from culture integration in the different learning areas, the pupils made use of their Homeroom Time to preparation for the clminating event at the end of the month. Each class was assigned a country that they will introduce to their visitors, and they even rehearsed their class intoductions using the language of their assigned country!
Finally, on the 28th of October, a UN world tour took place. The students visited various classrooms where they got a crash course about each country's unique cuture. They even had their own passport which was designed as a passport which was designed as a passport. Aside from that, an upbeat perpormance was presented by the adorable preschoolers. The PSIS parents and guardians cheered them on as they stomped and clapped their way to the stage.
This Occasion was truly a great addition to our long list of events this year. As students in a highly globalized world learning new stuff made us realize that there is a wide world out there, just waiting to be discovered.
